B Drummond

This body of work comes out of a personal story of my childhood, for many years I grew up with my farther being a butcher. This for me had always felt normal, a part of every life that I had become accustomed too.  As a child the space had always fascinated me, I was never repelled or uneasy in such a male dominated space or even by the rich smell of bleach and blood.

With this body of work I wanted to capture the space as I remembered it, the light, the objects and the people, as a way of looking back and understand how space effects us. In many ways shops much like this one have become like relics, little pockets into a past and windows onto days gone by.
